- The Senior Reservoir Engineer will report to a Team Leader and be responsible for all activities on company operated properties to optimize profitability within the Upstream – Reservoir/Engineering Team
- Contribute to the success of our projects by working effectively in a team environment with Geology, Geophysics and other Engineering disciplines
- Conduct numerical modelling, subsurface studies and exploitation planning
- Generate production forecasts using reservoir simulation, production analysis and other reservoir engineering techniques
- Optimize well pattern layouts, development sequences and well placement
- Formulate a fit for purpose reservoir surveillance plans to collect reservoir data

Job description
The Professor of Natural Resource Engineering will play a leading role in establishing the group’s future research programme and will be instrumental in teaching and coordinating the Resource Engineering curriculum.The successful candidate has a PhD in a relevant area and an excellent publication record.Potential research areas are
- optimizing the link between mining and processing of material to reduce processing and energy costs; mining and processing of oil sands;
- the use of coal deposits in the Netherlands for mining of coal and storage of CO2;
- solution mining of salt;
- offshore winning of ores.The Professor should work closely with industry and obtain significant research funding from these sources. Publication of research results in leading international journals is of paramount importance and should reach a high and steady output within a few years.The Professor will teach Resource Engineering courses at the BSc and MSc levels. Excellent teaching skills are important, and personal interaction with students and young researchers should be professional, enthusiastic and encouraging. The Professor should have good managerial capacities to contribute to the organizational aspects of the Department.It is expected that non-Dutch-speaking candidates will learn Dutch in a limited period of time. The new Professor should speak, read and write English proficiently.
